Joleen Ann Meier (née Jablonski), 70, passed away on March 20, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis “Skip” Meier; and survived by her children Scott (Beth) and Kelsey. Joleen and Skip were married for over 40 years and lived most recently in St. Clair Shores, where they raised their family and enjoyed spending their time boating on Lake St. Clair. Joleen and Skip bought and ran a beautiful restaurant called Kavan’s for 17 years.
Joleen’s life passion was her family and being involved in the lives of her children and their friends. Joleen and Skip adopted their two children from South Korea, Scott and Kelsey, something she always celebrated with their “Got-Me-Day” each year. Her greatest joy came from watching her children in the numerous activities they participated in and will be remembered as a mother to all of their friends, treating anyone who came into her home as her own.
Her other passion was volunteering for the Miss St. Clair Shores Scholarship Program, a local affiliate of the Miss America Organization, where she committed over 35 years of service.
Visitation, Sunday, March 26 from 2-8PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Funeral Service, Monday, March 27 at 12PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in her name.
