It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Agnello on July 21, 2024 at his home in St. Clair Shores. John passed away being embraced by his loving wife Mary Lou of 73 years and his children surrounding him. He was a loving father to his four children Kathy, Sherry (Michael), Michael (Bobbie), and Pete (Maria). He was supportive and caring to his 10 grandchildren and their spouses and 14 grandpa great children.
He was born on February 22, 1930 in Detroit to Giouseli and Anna Agnello. He was one of 9 children. Living still William and Gordon. Predeceased by Anna, Jack, Tina, Dolly, Joe, and Delores.
Being a resident of St. Clair Shores for 70 years, he enjoyed life to the fullest. Volunteering in the city he loved. He chaired the St. Clair Shores Memorial Day parade for 26 years, was on numerous city committees. He emceed and organized drum corp shows. There wasn’t a day you would not see him without a cigar in his mouth. His passion was hunting and was an excellent shot.
He was employed in Public Relations at General Motors for 46 years and chaired the sun race.
He served in the Korean War as a medic and received the Bronze Star with V for Valor and Purple Heart Medals. Always willing to help. He will be missed by all.
Visitation, Monday, July 29, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
