Isaac Ford, Jr., was born in Cheraw, South Carolina to the late Isaac Sr. and Louise Ford. He was the oldest son of seven siblings. His brother Eli preceded him in death. He and his family later returned to Detroit, Michigan where he was employed by Uniroyal/BF Goodrich as a Laborer and Lab Technician. He was very active in the union and later became a union steward.
“Buck”, as he was affectionately known, was a very dedicated family man. He enjoyed giving updates on his family and these updates would usually start with “well you know”. Buck loved to have conversations that sometimes seemed like debates but his point of view was usually both knowledgeable and entertaining. He was a person that knew a lot about politics, football, basketball and his favorite, baseball. “Go Tigers”. If you knew him and were asked: Can you tell me a little something about this man called Isaac (Buck)? “He was a kind person, a gentle man, a free spirit; yes… a person that would help without hesitation. He loved his family and he would be that guy to go that extra mile for you”.
God takes the best people untimely……
