Hey Brother, this is Shar. What I wanted to say to you is I miss you. I remember in January of 2017 I heard the news of your passing by Cheyenne. I was heartbroken and devastated. I can't describe into words how much I miss you. Your hugs, you messaging me on Facebook. Remember that? We used to talk and have fun? Well, I'm going to make this one short. Your birthday is coming up soon and what I wanted to do is light a candle and play Sum 41's "pieces" only because it reminds me of you every time. I love you, and I miss talking to you and seeing you. One day me, you and mom will all meet again.

I often wait to wake up from what feels like a terrible dream and then reality sets in and my tears begin to fall . I will never make another lasting memory with you , I will never see your hair grey or know what you would be like as an older man . My days seem to roll into each other and sometimes you creep up on me out of nowhere . I know you are with me every day but I’m greedy and want my baby brother here if only to argue with his big sester and yes I smelled it wrong because that’s how you said it , look what I got just for you !

Hey Gubbs,I was thinking today about you and Your dad came in 94 you was in school  here Jerry got a job i came a lot of mornings and took you to some classes at a different school, You and I did good laughing and listen to music 
 in the  car and I would bring you to my place and get up  next morning and cook up some country gravy, biscuit. If i could get up in the morning, cook up some of our favorite Tomato gravy, Katie Lee style and all the trimmings then wake you and say IT"S on the table dig in eat all you can hold.How I wish I could do that for you again.May you be at peace and look down on us who Loved you and blow big smiles in the wind to swirl all around all, Your little Katie and Blake,need it the most. Us grow ups will share. MY Heart is in my throat, it's like, I say I will never say Good bye. Sitting here wishing we could go fishing. down at Mallard Creek I wouldn't care if you caught the biggest one. I'll always remember the camping when you were so young. we will all hang out again with Jesus. RIP

Gerald Holland Jr. was a fine young man who was taking from his family to soon.  He will be remembered as a good guy with a caring heart whose laughter and energy could fill a room when he walked in. He loved the great outdoors, he and I discussed his love of fishing, as I remember while visiting in Michigan. Its with sincere regret that we did not have the opportunity to take that fishing trip together.
 
Gerald was the light of his dads life and now they can be together in the great heavens above, where they can love and hold one another for all eternity. Together they can cheer for the home team Roll Tide or is it GO MICHIGAN?  God Bless him and all the family.

Jerry I will always hold u in my heart. Memories will never leave . I promised you one thing and that is to watch over Blake and I will always do that.  Fly high and be at Peace . Our last conversation will always stick with me . Kids said they love you daddy Jerry.

I will forever hold you dear to my heart and I will be sure to let your babies know how much there daddy loved them. I will always watch over them . I love you with all my heart and I will never get over losing you ..

I wish to express my sadness for the loss of my nephew Gerald Holland Jr. known by the family as Gubbs.
Although I haven't spent much time with him as an adult the memories of our times together when he was a child brings a smile to my face. Gubbs was an adorable little boy who loved too dance and have fun. He had a smile that could light up a room, charming personality and he was loved dearly by his family.
There were many occasions that our families saw one another, but two in particular I want to share. 
We came to Michigan from sunny Mobile Al. it was snowing and cold, my brother had a large basement and in the evening we all would gather down there and listen to  music, talk and have fun together.
Vanilla Ice was popular artist at that time and Gubbs could break dance just like him. We would play Ice Ice Baby over and over and Gubbs would dance, my brother loved to see him dance. 
Another occasion we were in Gulf Shores, Al. staying the week, all crowded together in a small condo. My brother would sit in the lounge chair watching the kids on the beach, somehow one kid started to run and jump over the chair my brother was sitting in while he was sitting there in it. He was sprayed with sand, yet Jerry would sit there quietly with a warm smile and the kids thought it was so funny. They started  taking turns running  and jumping over him, laughing and laughing. Gubbs would say, "here I come daddy" and he would challenge the others kids that he could jump the highest. I have pics of the kids jumping that fun day! 
Its times like those I'll never forget, memories of a better time and a better place, when family was close.. truly warms my heart and makes me sad too! 
I don't know of the heart aches and problems that Gubbs may have had as an adult. I regret that I didn't keep in touch as much as I could have, life seems to make us go our separate ways and live a more solitary lifestyle. Yet, we have our memories. 
One thing is for certain sweet Gubbs is now in the arms of his dad, my dear brother, his grandmother and his grandfather. He is looking down upon us and he knows that he is loved and will be missed always.
My heart aches for Danielle, Courtney, his children Katie and Blake and all of our family. God bless them as we praise his holy name.
