Elaine J. Barnes

Elaine J. Barnes, age 74, passed away on November 17, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1949 to her late parents Leonard and Lena Malkowski. Elaine is survived by her beloved daughters: Michelle (Robert) Yelinek, Debra McReynolds; loving grandchildren: Shannon McCarthy, Jamie McCarthy, Matthew Ball, Emily Ball; great-grandson: Jameson LaRowe; and siblings: Leonard Malkowski Jr., Anthony Malkowski, and David (Lana) Malkowski. Also left to cherish her memory are many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Elaine was a dedicated mother and adoring grandmother. She graduated from Clintondale High School and after attended Macomb Community College where she received her associate’s degree. She worked and retired from L’Anse Cruese Schools. Elaine has now joined her former husband, Carl Barnes Sr., in Heaven. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
