Dennis' first job was at NBD, and he worked there for 40+ years until his retirement. He was a sports fanatic, he loved all sports, especially football, baseball and basketball. He played in the CYO Championship while in High School at St. Bernard. Dennis coached basketball at St. Jude, where he also served on the Athletic Booster and as an Usher. Dennis enjoyed playing cards, there were many games of Showdown played with family, and he was a great poker player- and always broke even.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joan; their children, Barb (Matt) Knoche, Denise (Rick Hayes) Cox, Kevin (Sandra) Cox, James (Lauren Hendricks) Cox; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sara) Knoche, Renee (Mark) Urban, Michael (Andrea) Cox, Isabelle Cox, Cate Cox, Chloe Cox; and 5 great- grandchildren, Alison Knoche, Claire Knoche, Channing Urban, Leighton Urban, Mark Urban III.
A visitation for Dennis will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm with a 7pm Rosary service at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. An instate will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 10am until the time of Mass at 11am at St Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss St, Harrison Township, MI 48045. For those who will be unable to attend in person the Mass will be live streamed.
