It is with the greatest of sorrow that we announce the death of Edward (Ed) devoted husband and best friend of Ida (Hemphill). Dear great-grandfather to Parker. Also survived by his brother Wilfred (Huguette); sisters, Irene Pepin; Helen (Domenic) Rossetto and Doreen (Paul) Meagher. Edward was employed by the St. Catharines Transit Commission for 31 years retiring in 1996 followed by service on the Paratransit Advisory Board. He will be remembered by those he served for his kind and gentle manner. Ed was a faithful member of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria. In 1999, he and his wife, Ida, established the “Cathedral Socialites”, a social club for seniors in the parish. Ed and Ida enjoyed their many trips together especially to Australia, California and many coastal destinations in Florida. The highlights of their travels were their car trips across Canada to the West Coast and then eastward where they especially enjoyed the Maritimes.
