I have memories of sharing ideas with Patrick while working at the Region  within my role  as Quality Assurance Coordinator.

Such a sad shock to hear of Pat's passing.
We had worked together at the Ontario Human Rights Commission for six years. He was the consummate professional always good natured and a great team member. 
He was generous helping me when we both started our consultancies after leaving the Commission. 
We had not spoken in many years and out of the blue I called him last year to see how he was doing. I was so pleased to hear of his passion for teaching. 
Gone far to early but so many lives were made better by knowing him, A Class Act all the way!

I am so lucky to have been in Patrick's classes over my three years at Niagara College, especially through the pandemic. This photo was taken in 2023 at our end of year celebration. During the pandemic, Patrick provided a space for open discussion, understanding, and even humour during a time of isolation and anxiety, which I think we all really needed at that time. This carried over into in-person classes, where he encouraged us to be open-minded, critical, and active in our communities. Patrick truly believed in all of his students and would always make time for us during school and after graduation for support. It has been an absolute pleasure learning from Patrick and he will be sorely missed. Sending my condolences to his family and friends.

Patrick was so dedicated to improving Niagara -- through planning and through his many other endeavours.
One major impact that most may not know is Patrick's help protecting the Fonthill Kame in Pelham. After I raised the issue at the Region, he took if very seriously and oversaw a planning report for Council to encourage the Province to protect it (instead of removing the ANSI designation as some had wanted). He helped lead the "Niagara Week" lobby efforts and supported a meeting with the Minister of Natural Resources. That meeting in particular helped advance the cause of protection!
Next time you travel up Hwy 20 between Lookout and Effingham, look left and right and thank Patrick for his work!

My most sincere condolences go out to you all on the loss of your loving husband, father and grandfather, Patrick.
Working with Patrick since he began his teaching journey in the Environmental Management Program was an honour and a pleasure.  We collaborated on many internships which he brought my way from his various networks of environmental professionals in Niagara.  He was a kind, intelligent and passionate person and our conversations, whether in the hall or in the office, always included something related to our families - he never hid the fact that the grandkids were coming, accompanied by a huge smile on his face.  The many students he taught in multiple Programs looked up to his valuable mentorship and the highlight of the year would be his reliable need to ask each student a question after their Final Presentation.  We would laugh at the time, but truly he wanted everyone to feel their contribution mattered, so he never failed to ask valid questions - and the students respected him for that, and truly loved him.  We all did.  I hear his voice in the last email he wrote me and know that his words were sincere.  We were lucky to call him our NC Family, and will miss him dearly.

Condolences to the Family. I was shocked and saddened to see that Patrick had passed away at such a young age. Patrick was truly a great person to meet or know. I had the pleasure of sitting on the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance working group for a decade while Patrick worked at Niagara Region and then moved onto Niagara College.  I learned so much from his thought provoking answers, his openness, his ability to think outside of the box.  Whenever I needed a contact, he would quickly respond and offer to help me out.  He had an exceptional network because of the man he was and was always willing to jump in and assist.  He truly wanted those around him to succeed which is the sign of a true leader. So shocked and sad to learn of Patrick's passing. Patrick and I worked together when he was an Officer at the Ontario Human Rights Commission with the Hamilton Niagara Regional Office. Patrick was so dedicated and passionate about protecting and advancing the rights  of  all and worked diligently while pursuing  his own educational interests  and raising a young family as well.   He then moved to Regional government and has held many  different poisitions throughout his career. After leaving the Commission we would talk from time to time as  Patrick was so well versed in many areas and I always valued his insights and opinions but it has now been many years since we last spoke and  I deeply regret that.    My sincerest sympathy to Kelly  and the family. Unfortunately a long scheduled surgery will prevent me from attending any of the services for Patrick but he will be in my thoughts and I will make a memorial donation  to honour his well lived life.

Patrick's leadership was instrumental in our YMCA of Niagara and I appreciate so much his thoughtful guidance and advice as I learned my new role as Chair of the Board. After two years of service in this role I have found his fingerprints on many of the important decisions that shaped our organization. While my interactions with Patrick were focused on our shared mission to see a thriving YMCA in our community, it is no surprise to me that his many passions benefitted from his steady leadership style and easy mentorship approach. I am very grateful for the lessons I learned from him. Rest peacefully <3

Patrick was the guiding angel for my family and me as we embarked on a challenging application to acquire land after years of setbacks. This project marked the beginning of our dream and the start of our legacy. Patrick answered thousands of emails and always responded to phone calls with the utmost professionalism and enthusiasm, often on his own time. He guided and encouraged us, holding our hands every step of the way. He never gave up on us and continued to fight and persevere. Many times throughout this process, we would tell him, "I wouldn’t be this far without you." He believed in us and our dream.

Over the years, as we worked through the application, we got to know each other personally. I loved hearing about his wife, his passion for growing hops, and his grandchildren. He was a consummate professional, one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever had the privilege of working alongside, and was certainly held in high regard wherever he was mentioned.

To Patrick’s family: From the bottom of our hearts, we want you to know how much we appreciated him. There were times I believe I would have given up without his support. Im so happy we got the opportunity to share the success of this story before his passing. Our paths have been forever changed, and we look forward to planting a tree in his memory on our farm.

I had the pleasure of sitting on the Peace Bridge Board with Pat over the last 4 years, retiring from the Board only 4 months ago when I last saw him. We always sat next to each other and I always appreciated his thoughts on Board matters as well as side conversations which arose periodically. His comments and perspectives revealed his wisdom and care for all matters he faced and I will forever feel fortunate to have known him. I offer his family and friends my most sincere condolences.

I will forever be grateful for having Patrick a part of my early life. After the first day I met him, in my early 20's,  I told myself "I want to be like this guy" and I made sure I soaked him in. 

I first met him as a 4th year political science student at Brock as he was teaching public administration. He was so infectious and someone who you wanted to learn from. 

Patrick pushed me to do my master's, and I essentially applied because he told me to. Once I finished, I found myself jobless and he was the first call I made. I felt like he knew me and would help. Literally a week later he called me and told me he was starting a new department at the Niagara Region, and I'd be his intern. We'd go for walks at the quarry, and I'd drink up the sports and government chats, but most of all I loved his lessons on people and leadership. He was so skilled in this. He introduced me to so many ideas, scholars and other leaders, one of whom became my long-standing mentor & friend. 

As my career grew and he moved to Niagara College he always stayed in touch. He kept tabs on what I was up to and continued to support me in a quiet, smooth way like he did when I was an intern. 

Patrick thank you for giving me a chance and inspiring me to dream and learn. You will be missed.

I had the pleasure of being one of Patrick's students in the 2021-2022 EMA Program. Patrick was the best teacher I ever had. He was a mentor and a huge influence on my life. He chose me as one of the co-op students for the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Network and without that experience and the knowledge he instilled in me I wouldn't be where I am today. My success is all thanks to Patrick and his dedication to the EMA program. I admired his wisdom, values, and positivity. He will be missed and never forgotten. Patrick has been my professor for almost 4 courses I took at Niagara College. Being new in Canada is a bit hard to get reputable references. Very sad to see this news.  Having interacted with Mr. Robson as a teenager through minor basketball, and then years later while working at the Niagara Region, I can say he was a true class act and treated me with great kindness. 

I will also remember …while giving a presentation to a group of us new hires in my first couple days, he noticed me in  the crowd and stopped to say hello and ask how I was doing. I was surprised and impressed that he remembered me all those years later.

Patrick was a friend, a colleague, a mentor, an advisor...

I am trying to find a Patrick word to describe the hole in my heart - maybe a chasm - a deep, wide, treacherous gap such as a canyon or a gorge. I will miss "words by Patrick". At least once a month he would remind us - Niagara is not a 'peninsula', rather, it is an isthmus...just like the Niagara River is not a river, rather it's a connecting channel or strait.  Good thing he never worked for MTO - the signs would say Welcome to the Niagara Isthmus.

I shared an office with Patrick when we were both starting out at Niagara College. He had such a kind and thoughtful way about him, coupled with a deep intelligence and a sense of humour. I enjoyed hearing the details about the experiences and workings of his farm. I could immediately see how he would be in the classroom and knew it was spot on when he won the educator of the year, a few short years later. It is indeed too bad that he didn’t have more time to bend young minds through his teaching, and the breadth of knowledge he had to share. 

I am grateful for the chance to get to know him and extend my deepest condolences to his family as they navigate such a tremendous loss.

Patrick will be deeply missed. I am one of his countless students who's privileged to learn and interact with him (on and off campus). I admire his brilliance and perspective about balancing professional and personal life.  He's a great mentor and a very humble person. I will forever carry his teachings and advices as I journey through life. My condolence to Patrick's family and friends!

Patrick always made me feel welcome, comfortable, and accepted in the EMA program through my time as a consultant on the Program Advisory Committee and recently as Faculty. Not a week went by without a link to a relevant news article in my inbox from Patrick that tied into one of my classes. He was always looking to expand the experience for everyone, for the better. 

These memories and more will sustain me through this process and path forward in a world without him. It is my hope that others can as well.

His presence will be missed, and but his impact will be felt for years to come.

Patrick's teachings will always be with me during my Canadian journey (and indeed in the journeys of countless students he taught). Always with enticing stories and lessons from his faithful and tested professional and personal life, Patrick will always be remembered. I feel privileged to have been his student.
