Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 79th year. Beloved husband for 57 years of Barbara. Loving dad of Deborah (Stanley) Piggott, Karen (Jack) Gillespie, Susan Michels, and Chris (Cathy) Michels. Proud and cherished Papa of Meghan, Emily, Cassandra, Jacob, and Abigail. Great-grandfather of Alexandria. Dear brother of Margaret Pearce and Karl (Pat) Michels. John retired after many years from Ferrante-Packard and was a longtime volunteer with the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital.
