Dr. James Robert HANNAH, - (April 2, 1923-May 15, 2011) - James Robert Hannah passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday May15, 2011 in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife Patricia, sisters Dorothy Dodington and Beverly Fear. Survived by his brother Dr. Walter Hannah. Living father of Elisabeth, David, Robert (DeeDee), James (Tiffany) and Alison (Roger) and grandfather of six grandchildren, Jacalyn, Robin, Tommy, Jake, Rachael and Westland. Born and raised in St. Catharines he attended the St. Catharines Collegiate and volunteered to serve overseas in WWII. Served as a Lancaster bomber pilot in 115 Squadron of the RAF stationed at Whitchford, England and completed a full tour of operations. After returning from the war he attended and graduated from the University of Toronto in Dentistry in 1952. He practiced Dentistry, among other things at the corner of King and Court Streets for 35 years. Survived a bout with cancer in 2001. He was avidly involved in amateur sports and served as the Dentist for the Junior "A" Blackhawks and was one of the original owners of the St. Catharines Rams football team and strong supporter of Ridley Rowing. Bob was a great supporter of charities throughout the Niagara Region. He was always fascinated with cars, boats and planes as well as frequenting gyms on a regular basis. He loved traveling with his godson Ward Seymour during his retirement. He possessed a wonderful sense of humour and had a wide array of friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone whose life he touched. He was deemed "One Lucky Man". In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the Ridley Chapel on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 11 a.m.
