Henry Thiessen

(March 16, 1934 – February 12, 2015) –

Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Health Centre, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline. Loving brother of Katharine “Kelly” Cain, John Thiessen, Elizabeth “Betty” Christie, Lora (Robert) Campbell, Patricia “Pat” Stafford, and Peter Thiessen. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Henry was a 32 year Veteran with the Canadian Armed Forces serving in the Korean War. He was also the recipient of the United Nations Service Medal, United Nations Medal (Cyprus), and Canadian Forces’ Decoration and Clasps. Henry also served as Commissioner in Windsor for numerous years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus – Windsor Chapter.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church. St. (905-684-6346). A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation, with inurnment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
