Thomas “Tom” Michael O'Brien, age 83, of Ferguson, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine (nee Yoffie) O’Brien, and his sisters, Marie O’Brien and JoAnn Whalen. Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Madge (nee Plouder), sharing sixty-two years of marriage; and by his children, Cindy O’Brien, Tina (Steve) Kessler, and Tim (Donna) O’Brien; his grandchildren Rick, Tom, and Keith (Holly) Steinbruegge, Theresa (Josh) Smith, Anna Kessler, Kylie O’Brien, and Brendan O’Brien, and his great-grandchildren Diamond, Analiese, Chase, and Tommy, along with his brothers; John (AnnaMae) O'Brien and James (Dorothy) O'Brien.
Family was important to Tom, who treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren Together he and his dear wife, Madge, embarked upon countless adventures with their siblings and friends; their favorite being cruising, particularly to the picturesque landscapes of Alaska where they shared moments of pure joy and tranquility. As a devout supporter of the St. Louis Blues, Tom’s passion for the team never wavered, cheering them on during victories and defeats.
Tom worked tirelessly to support his family. Over four decades at Pepsi Cola Manufacturing, his hard work, dedication, and sense of humor impacted all who knew him.
A visitation for Tom will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. A service at 1:00 PM will follow at the exact location. Immediately following the service, Tom will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum, 5239 W. Florissant Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63115.
