Throughout his career, Ted dedicated his professional life to the airline industry, having worked for Ozark, TWA, and American Airlines. His commitment and passion for his work were evident to all who knew him.
Ted had a zest for life that extended beyond his career. He enjoyed the thrill of playing in National Volleyball Tournaments and found joy in traveling across the country, with Boston, Albuquerque, and San Francisco holding special places in his heart. Known as a man who was "a stranger to no one," his wife, Toni, fondly recalls his vast reserve of "knowledgeable in unnecessary information," which brought smiles to many.
Family was at the center of Ted's life. He was a devoted husband to Toni Callas, his wife of 41 years, and a loving father to his daughter, Alexandra (Derek) Toczylowski, and his son, Teddy Callas. He relished the time spent with his beloved grandchildren, Trenton, Scarlett, and Thomas, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. Ted was a beloved brother to Cathy DeJong, Christina Collins (Mark), and uncle to Kristen and Josh.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Ted Callas and Virginia Callas. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories, carried forward by his surviving family and friends.
Ted will be remembered for his warm spirit and the indelible mark he left on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made in Ted's honor to American Heart Association.
