Mary "Joan" Rogers, age 78, of Bridgeton, Missouri passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. She is preceded in death by her father, James H. Depriest, and her beloved husband, Jim Rogers. Alongside them, she is reunited with her sweet puppies, Simon, Smitty, and Sammy, who crossed the rainbow bridge before her.
Joan leaves behind her children, Valerie (Frank) Rizzello, Andrew (Sandy) Swaringam. She was a devoted daughter of Mary Depriest and a grandmother to Jonathan (Stacey), Michael (Aziza), Tyler, Frankie, Abby, Matthew, Nicholas, Lucas, and great-grandmother to Scarlett. Joan also leaves behind her loving brother, Lowell (Charlotte) Depriest. She was an adoring aunt to Julie, Craig (Andrea), and great aunt to Ella and Parker. Joan will be missed by her adoring puppy, Sidney, who brought her and her mother joy and companionship.
Joan’s creativity was boundless. She found joy in embroidery, crocheting, macramé, needlepoint, and crafting prayer quilts. Her artistic talents knew no limits, and she could transform any idea into a beautiful creation. Joan had an insatiable appetite for books, particularly thrillers and murder mysteries. This allowed her to explore thrilling mysteries and engage her imagination.
Her spiritual life was significant, and she was an active member of her church. Joan’s commitment to her faith extended to volunteering as much as she could, offering her time and support wherever needed. Joan will be remembered for her warmth, her creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
A visitation for Joan will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. Followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, at the same location. Joan will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St Charles Rock Rd, Saint Ann, MO 63074.
