Jennifer “Jyn” Melissa Brewington was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. A loving and caring daughter, sister, cousin, auntie to her step-sister’s kids, cousin’s kids and her fiancé’s niece and nephew, a beautiful fiancé and an all around caring person who was always there when she was needed. She was very passionate and outspoken about what she believed in and stood
up for those she loved and wanted to protect everyone she could. She was a strong believer in communication, trust, and respect. She was adventurous, playful, and carefree; yet serious when she needed to be. She would be out in nature whenever possible, the beaches or the mountains, it didn’t matter as long as it was pretty and outside. She wasn’t perfect, but she did her best to be a good person every day.
Jyn was born in El Paso, TX to Johnny and Adrena Brewington, she lived in Mesa, AZ; Rochester, MN; and St. Louis (Florissant), MO. She was brought up as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, being baptized December 20, 2014 in Casa Grande, AZ. She shared her love through service work and being kind to everyone, as she was taught. She even went as far as joining a Russian Kingdom Hall in Arizona to
further expand her service work. She was one who had to know all the information about everything, scripture, her schooling, her medical history and medications. As an avid reader, she would research and delve deep into the knowledge of everything she as passionate about and learn all that she could.
Jyn worked as a phlebotomist for most of her career until her health forced her to resign. Despite her
health problems, she was always still helpful and caring, doing as much as her health would let her. Cleaning the house, taking care of those around her, and so much more. She loved being a fan to many genres, Star Wars, Disney, Doctor Who, Pirate themed things, the color purple and so much more! Pops, Squishmallows, Blankets, Straw toppers, Starbucks Tumblers, you name it, she liked something, she wanted to collect it all. She knew you liked something, she wanted to buy it for you and everything
related to it as well.
When she found Ethan she fell in love with him from the beginning. She pursued a relationship with him because she knew he was the one. She said that he was her soulmate, her one and only. The two shared many adventures over their 5 years together, soon to start a new adventure and marry in October 2025.
She was supportive of her fiancé, communicative and trusting, her love for him was outstanding and she always stood by him.
Jyn was preceded in death by her father Johnny Brewington, Aunt Debbie, Aunt Jeanie, half sister Johnnie Donda Hickey and her grandparents. Jyn is survived by her mother, Adrena Brewington,
half sister Pixie Brewington Roberts, Cousins Jolene Wright, Andy Wright, and Amber Schulz; Aunt Tanya
Hall, Aunt Terry Sifuentes, and many more family members; along with her fiancé Ethan Foss and his
family. She is also survived be a large spiritual family.
She will be greatly missed and will continue to live our memories forever and the memories of all those who knew her, and those who knew of her but didn’t get a chance to meet her yet. So many memories and stories about her life, too many to type up without writing an entire book. A few are listed below, and more will be talked about in a video posting that Ethan is working on to memorialize Jyn’s life on a YouTube video that will be posted to the channel “Following Foss”, where you will also find many
videos of their 5 years together.
Memories & Stories
“There are too many, I don’t know if I can pick just one. The one that jumps out at me, was when Ethan first brought her to meet the family. Ethan, Jyn, Ethan’s brother Matt, his wife Kayla, and their kids Chloe and Daxton were outside playing with water guns. She just jumped into playing and goofing around with the family like she had been a part of it the whole time.”
- Jan (Jyn’s future Mother-in-law)
“I remember so much, cooking together, taking care of the animals, playing board games where she almost made me pee myself laughing. The best memory is from playing Disney Villainous, she had us rolling that night. She was a kind, considerate and thoughtful person. She will be truly missed”
