Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Tate, age 80, of Hazelwood, Missouri passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Dorothy (nee Fischer) Gardner, and her brothers; Chris and Phillip Gardner. She was a devoted mother to Jim “Scooter” Tate and grandmother to Steven Tate. A cherished sister, adored aunt, cousin and a dear friend.
Jackie’s life was a testament to her free spirit and boundless, lovable energy. Her world revolved around her son and grandson, whom she adored beyond measure. She lived a well-lived life, leaving memories with those fortunate enough to know her. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of family and friends. Her commitment to making a positive impact was evident through her leadership in spearheading a gift donation program at Marygrove, a ministry of Catholic Charities, where she rallied coworkers and employers to bring joy to countless children during the Christmas holiday. She exemplified a take-charge attitude that left a lasting mark.
Her passion extended in the sports arena, where Jackie showcased her athleticism on both a work softball team and a local volleyball league. Beyond the field, she embraced life with diverse interests, participating in groups like the “Old Geezers” and the cherished “HOBS.”
A memorial gathering for Jackie will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
