Hershel was born October 1, 1923 in Fredericktown, Missouri to Frank and Grace Berry. On January 29, 1943, he was inducted into the United States Army and served until November 30, 1945 when he was honorably discharged.
In August of 1946, Hershel was married to Cleo Lawson until her death on April 22, 1999. He later married Elsie Graham, a long time family friend, on May 20, 2000. Elsie still resides in the home they made for themselves in St. Charles, Missouri.
Hershel was preceded in death by his first wife Cleo, his parents Frank and Grace Berry, and four sisters; Marie, Jean, Mable and Lorraine.
He is survived by his second wife Elsie Berry, His son David and his wife Mary of Lancashire, England, Step daughter Jean and her husband Don Boden of St. Peters, Missouri, Step son Wayne Graham and his wife Leona of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Step son Eric Graham and his wife Dorothy of Overland, Missouri, Granddaughters Carolyn Pisarkrewitz and Diane Manley, Nephew Don Frowhlich and other nephews.
Hershel worked for many years as a machinist. He was and avid pilot and enjoyed many games of golf throughout his life, especially with his grand daughter Diane.
Hershel and Elsie are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in St. Charles, Missouri with Pastor Neal Vannatta.
Visitation will be held on August 12, 2020 at 10:00 am at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO. Funeral Service will be held on August 12, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO. Followed by a Graveside Service to be held on August 12, 2020 at 12:45 pm at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St Charles Rock Rd, Saint Ann, MO.
