Colleen Hirst (nee Woolbright), 82, of St. Louis, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 19, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Jalah (nee Sandlin) Woolbright; husband, Lincoln Hirst; and siblings, Fred, Clyde, Shirley (in childhood), Carl, Don, and Jerry Woolbright. Colleen is survived by her children, Sher Wilson (David Rogers) of Casselberry, FL and Steven (Diane) Wilson of Florissant, MO; grandchildren, Katti Wilson and Harper Rogers; and her sister, Loretta (the late Tom) McBride.
Colleen grew up in N. St. Louis and was outnumbered by all the men in her household. This made Colleen a very social, sassy, feisty, and independent lady. She had a carefree attitude and she liked to have fun and was always dressed in style. As a young lady, she worked as a receptionist on “Hotel Row” on Lindbergh. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Colleen loved her family and her dogs. She had a tough exterior but a very soft heart. Her brassy spirit and her yummy spaghetti will be missed.
Friends may visit on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 10 a.m. until noon. Reflections of Colleen may be shared at noon followed by a committal service at Lake Charles Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest. Memorials are appreciated to the Humane Society of Missouri. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
