Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Butch Hastings and Brenda Young (Ken Wischmeyer), and her grandson, C.J. Thompson. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jacky D. Hodges Jr., whom she married on June 1, 2018, after many wonderful years together. Though their marriage was recent, their bond spanned nearly two decades of love and companionship.
Bonnie leaves behind her cherished children, Katie and Joey, her seven surviving grandchildren, her loving sisters Crystal (Scott), Billie, and Tiffany, as well as a large extended family of cousins, friends, and her APC Church family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, including her beloved cat, Patches, who brought her endless joy and comfort.
Bonnie lived her life with a heart full of generosity, kindness, and a deep love for those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was playing bingo, traveling to her favorite spots in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, or indulging in a little retail therapy and pampering herself with a fresh set of nails. She was happiest surrounded by her family and friends, always eager to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or brighten someone’s day.
An incredibly hard worker, Bonnie was the embodiment of a giver—she found fulfillment in serving others and making sure everyone was taken care of. She had a special love for the beach, where she could soak up the sun and feel the serenity of the waves, and she adored butterflies, which reminded her of beauty and transformation.
Her warm spirit and loving nature touched countless lives, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her
