Yun Pei Hu was born on August 18, 1951 in Taipei, Taiwan to father, Sung Hung Tzu and mother, Sing Chang I. She was the youngest of five siblings, Terri, Janifer, Michael, and William. After graduating from high school in Taipei, she went on to study journalism before immigrating to the United States.
Yun Pei met Tei Lin (Ivan) in Birmingham, Alabama and married in Bowie, Maryland on February 19, 1980. She gave birth to two children, Jasper Hu and Justine Grenier. Yun Pei and her family traversed the country before finally settling down in Virginia in 1991.
Yun Pei was warm, gentle and, in a word, selfless. She was active in the church and loved by her friends, family, and community. Yun Pei was known for helping anyone and everyone in need. She volunteered regularly, cooking, cleaning, providing transportation, and even housing students needing a place to stay. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren (Noah and Oliver).
Yun Pei will be remembered for how hard she loved and was loved, for being an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, and the way she always put her family first.
Memorial services will be TBD. In lieu of flowers please refer to the Gofundme account
