RIp my friend your work here was done God opened up the gates and called you home he needed another angel to help tend the flock, you're totally at peace now and never feel sorrow or pain again! Pleas say hello to your Dad, Edgar, Jerry and Carl for me I just know ya'll had a joyful reunion. We will forever miss you and are grateful for memories shared RIP my friend 🙏 ❤️ 😢

How can I ever forget watching ol' Wild Bill climb a pole in a 113 degree heat, still yelling at trainees and us Groundman. Showing all the young guys that he still had it. He came off that pole as red as a cherry and had to hide behind the supervisor's truck so the news cameras couldn't catch his lunch hit the pavement. That's Bill as I knew him: surly, stubborn, quick with a joke and a laugh, and could answer any question I ever had. What more could you want out of an old Lead Lineman. In fact, that was the same day he drove me to the hospital with my supervisor. He loved telling that story while I was around, and we all had a great time hearing it.

His stories of the good times were always the best part of rain days. They were rarely appropriate, but always entertaining.  I respected Bill so much because he fought hard for what he believed in, and he was such an asset to all the guys at the shop. He went to bat for anyone. His work ethic and knowledge of his trade were, and are an inspiration to me, and I'm sure others. His influence will be felt for years to come on our linecrews and in the shop. Bill Suttle was the Alex office, and we won't forget him.

Bill you were the pain in my side, but you were the person that I could always go to for anything. Every morning we shared our hour of going back and forth with each other and had the best laughs in the world to were we had tears. I'm going to miss that laugh, that smile and you just being YOU! At the end of it all.. I'm going to truly miss you.

Well there's not enough space here to even begin  to tell Bill's story. I met Bill in Charlottesville years ago. He was always on a quest for knowledge, always reading something, construction manual, safety manual, Union contract, you name it. He cared about his family, friends, and co-workers. He always took the time to teach, help, guide in anyway possible. The picture below was taken at the Local 50 office. Bill stopped in on his day off to deliver new membership applications.
IBEW, Local Union 50 leadership and staff will definitely miss him as Chief Steward, leader, teacher. I'll miss him as my friend.

Worked with Bill long time at Springfield.  Then about 8 yrs together in Charlottesville.  Fun and crazy all in one. He was a good one. Sorry to hear about Bill. Prayers 🙏 for family and friends! RIP Bill

Bill had SO many "sayings", I suggested he make them bumper stickers.
He could take a joke, but you better be prepared to take MANY from him.
 He was as proud a Lead Lineman as he was a Union man, and leader of many.
   He and I went to many offices in the past 2 plus years to represent our Members. 
IBEW  Local 50 Leadership, myself, our members and families will be forever missing him.

This one is hard to believe, Bill was one hell of a firefighter and friend he will be truly be missed by a lot of people. It is shame that all loose touch with each other over the years.

One of my most memorable events was we both were on a fire together in Oxon Hill. Him and I were ordered to go up a ladder through a window and put the fire out because the stairs were burnt out. I remember Bill running up the ladder diving in the window like it was nothing. Me being young was like oh boy I can’t be a punk I got to follow him so I went in right behind him and we fought that fire together. We definitely had some crazy moments over the years and lots of laughs he definitely be missed.
