Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.demainefunerals.com for the Hoover family.
Tom Hoover was born and raised in Waynesboro, PA. He was the last of four children born to George and Maude Hoover. His siblings were William, Richard, and Claudine. Tom graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1959 and shortly thereafter, he joined the Air Force. He served in the Air Force as a medic from 1959 till 1963. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Fairbanks Alaska, San Antonio Texas, and Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, DC. It was while he was stationed at Andrews that he met his wife Pat. They were married in 1963 in Chatham, VA. Then in 1968, they started a family with the birth of their first child, Stacy Lynn. Then they added to their family in 1972 with the birth of their second child, James Samuel. They completed their family in 1982 with the birth of their third child, Jennifer Ann.
A major part of Tom's life was his faith. Tom and Pat were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in 1976. Their lives were centered around spiritual activities. Tom enjoyed many privileges of service over the years including serving as a congregation elder for over 40 years and giving parts at Circuit Assemblies and Regional conventions. But one privilege he cherished the most was serving as a Regular Pioneer devoting over 800 hours each year preaching and teaching bible truths and having a share in Metropolitan Witnessing.
Tom loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved going to the Beach. Our family has many fond memories of our time together going to Smith Mountain Lake, Myrtle Beach, California, Thousand Islands, NY, and many other family trips and vacations.
Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years Pat, his brother Richard Hoover (Lois), his daughter Stacy Henderson (TJ), his son Sam (Stephanie), and his daughter Jennifer Pinto (Sarah), his grandchildren Skylar, Cody, Harrison, Jackson, Mackenzie, Madison, Mason, and a host of other nephews and nieces.
Tom will be interred at Green Hill Cemetery in his hometown of Waynesboro, PA. A graveside service will be held for immediate family only. The date and time of this graveside service has yet to be determined.
A memorial service will be held via Zoom at a later date and time.
The Hoover family would like to express our appreciation for all of the phone calls, text messages, flowers, and encouraging words from family and friends. Your support and shared memories mean a lot to us.
