Rhodie was born in Philadelphia, PA to Walter Gray Bellairs and Rosalie Mary (Bowden) Bellairs on May 7, 1937. She graduated from Ursinus College. She married Capt. (Ret.) James Eli Thompson, Jr. on October 7, 1967 in Philadelphia, PA.
Rhodie is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bob and Jack Bellairs.
Rhodie is survived by her husband James, her children Heather Fryer and Jim Thompson (spouse Jennifer), and her grandchildren, Andrew Fryer, Victoria Thompson, and Alexa Thompson.
As was her wish, Rhodie will be cremated with her ashes to be shared between the future final resting place of her husband of 56 years and with the winds at North Myrtle beach. Memorial services will be determined at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, the American Lung Association or the National Audubon Society.
