Of Alexandria, on August 2, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of 58 years to Peggy Frances Mackey; caring father of Mark and Kathryn; dear grandfather of Jamie and Michael; and cherished great-grandfather of 5.
Born and raised in South Carolina, Robert was a proud graduate of Clemson University in 1956. That same year he moved to the Washington, DC area, married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, and took a job with the U.S. Patent and Trade Office. He would work as a Patent Examiner for the Department of Commerce until his retirment in 1989.
