OPAL FERN SPAMPINATO, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in Colorado Springs, CO. Surviving wife of Charlie Spampinato; devoted mother of Charles I. Spampinato, Janet Wild and Linda Tobin; sister of Tom and Joe Irvin; sister-in-law of Rose P. Jones. Also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the DEMAINE SPRINGFIELD-ANNANDALE CHAPEL, Backlick and Edsall Roads, Springfield, VA on Thursday, September 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA with interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
