Of Lorton, on October 10, at the age of 59. Beloved wife of 36 years of Carl S. Person; caring mother of Cara Person; dear daughter of the late James and Mary Artis Royal; sister of Ethelene Rodgers, Ralph (Annie) Artis, Delores Hill, Mavis (Zeb) Regan, Linda (Ronald) Reese, and Melvin (Carolyn) Artis; daughter-in-law of Margaret Person; also survived by a large, loving extended family. Mary served the Fairfax County School District for over 30 years as a teacher, Education Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Friends are welcome at the Demaine Funeral Home, Backlick and Edsall Roads, Springfield on Sunday, October 13 from 4-5 pm. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at the St. James Church in Fremont, NC on Wednesday, October 16 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mary’s memory to World Vision International.
