IN THE CARE OF

Demaine Funeral Home

Mary “Meg” Elizabeth Giroux, 28, beloved daughter, sister, and friend of many, was peacefully called to eternal life while in her sleep on February 28, 2014. Mary was a beautiful, talented, artistic, and vibrant young lady who was both kind and generous. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends - especially long afternoons on her father’s boat. She was a hard worker and free spirit who had a contagious personality and infectious laugh that drew those around her closer. She was also greatly cherished by her many aunts and uncles. Being the first born grandchild to the Giroux and Reagle families, Mary set a great example for love, compassion and humility for all other grandchildren to follow including her brother, Nicholas. She will be greatly missed and her legacy will be etched in our hearts forever, until the day we joyfully meet her in heaven. Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents Lucille and Artie Talkington, Pearl May Reagle, Lee Calvin Reagle and Robert J. Giroux; uncle Father Raymond Giroux; and aunt and namesake Mary Elizabeth Giroux. She will be truly missed by her parents Tracie Giroux and Robert (Pat) Giroux; brother Nicholas (fiancé Caitlin Halligan); companion John Swords; grandparents Sondra and Ernie Gurkins of Salome, AZ and Anne Giroux of Wichita, KS; great aunts Florence Hazelbaker of Meeker, CO and Carol (John) Cammuso of Worcester, MA; uncles and aunts Lance (Mary) Reagle of Missoula MT, Thomas Giroux of Washington D.C., John Giroux of Baltimore, Maryland, Edmund (Azam) Giroux of Deltona, FL, Angela (Steffen )Scheide of Washington D.C., Anne (Paul) Jasinski of Wichita, KS, Martin (Val) Giroux of West New York, NJ, Raymond (Norma) Giroux of Springfield, VA, David (Bela) Giroux of Washington D.C., and Daniel (Christine) Giroux of Wichita, KS; and many first cousins that adored and loved their cousin Meg. Friends are welcome on Saturday, March 8 from 9 am-12 pm at the Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield, where a service to celebrate Meg’s life will follow at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions to the Compassion Animal Hospital, 11088 Marsh Rd, Bealeton, VA.
