He is survived by his children, Megan Fleming and Brian Anderson (children to Brenda Romenius) and Holly Anderson (daughter of Joanne Leonard), his two sisters Pamela Rudolph and Terry Anderson, and his granddaughter Hailey Fleming. Mark left this world as he entered it, surrounded by the unfaltering love and support of his family. Mark was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 30th, 1952 to his beloved mother Evelyn “Mimi” Anderson, and his father and dearest friend Cornelius “Lefty” Anderson.
Mark graduated from George Mason University with a BS in Business and was a member of Beta Epsilon Phi. He spent his career in the government following the footsteps of his father, working for both the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Defense. Above all else he cherished his life with his family, but also found great joy and wonder in Astronomy, Chess, Backgammon, Fishing, Movies, Spectating Sports, Mathematics, and Science. A voracious reader, throughout his life he experienced many great adventures and distant worlds as he engrossed himself in his love for Science Fiction. Mark was a man defined by his love for his family, his overwhelming intelligence, his gregarious and infectious sense of humor, his selflessness and compassion for the world around him, and his unyielding courage. He will be deeply missed, and always loved.
