

Marguerite Grace Bickers was born January 13, 1924 in Lake Hamilton, Florida and grew up in a small town, Lyons, near Vidalia, Georgia. James A. Grace and Emily Chrystine Easterling were her parents. She had three older brothers, Easterling, Mark and Roy. After two years at Brewton Parker Junior College, Marguerite moved to Washington, DC in 1943 and worked at Union Station as a reservation clerk. There she met and later married Ernest C. Bickers, Jr on September 17, 1944. Outside of homemaking, most jobs she held involved banking or clerical work. She was a long time member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and with the Senior saints. Some of her other interests were sewing, gardening and china painting. She was a loving mother to Ernest 3rd and Bonnie Grace and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
A memorial service was held at St. John's on July 12th and burial was at Quantico National Cemetery. Donations can be made in her honor to St. John's United Methodist Church, 5312 Backlick Rd, Springfield, Virginia 22151.
