Margaret Ruth Northup (age 97). On December 15, 2019, in Lake Ridge, VA. Beloved wife for 69 years of George Northup, devoted mother of Steve Northup and Donn Northup, and loving grandmother of Lindsay Kincade, Shea Millette, Carly Northup and Bryan Northup, with six great-grandchildren. Margaret was a wonderful homemaker, giving tremendous support to George’s service to the country in the U.S. Navy in World War II, the Korean War, as well as his government service in the FBI and DEA. Margaret was a longtime resident of Springfield, VA, attended Grace Presbyterian Church, and lived at Westminster Retirement Community in Lake Ridge, for the past 12 years. A funeral service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA, on Friday January 17, 2020 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery (family only). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
