Lester Scott Becker
March 14, 1950 – November 15, 2024
IN THE CARE OF
Demaine Funeral Home
Lester (Les) Scott Becker died peacefully with his wife by his side on November 15, 2024 in Springfield, Virginia at the age of 74.
Les is survived by his wife Joan Becker; children Carrie Becker of Hermitage, Pennsylvania and Katie (Alex) Rembert of Collegeville, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Tyler, Peyton, Brady, Jorja and Carter; brother Steven (Wende) Becker, sister June Becker and five nephews.
Les was born on March 14, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York to Horace and Gloria Becker. After moving to Rochester, New York Les graduated from Pittsford High School and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1972 with a degree in English. He then attended Northeastern University School of Law graduating with a JD in 1975. After moving to Western Pennsylvania, Les began working as an Attorney for Legal Services and ultimately entered into private practice. After 9/11, Les felt compelled to help protect his country and joined TSA in Virginia. He thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the public and spending time with his coworkers. His children remember him as a hardworking, generous, loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals but more importantly to do what they love and be happy.
Les loved sailing, kayaking, biking, and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his most memorable activities was taking each of his grandchildren to Disney World when they turned 10 years old. He was extremely handy and enjoyed doing projects around not only his home but his children’s homes as well. He was a friend to all and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Per his personal request there will be no funeral services but we encourage sharing remembrances on this website. The family would like to thank Aarondale Care Home and their staff for their kindness and excellent care.
