Today (Dec 22, 2020) my wife and I were sending out Christmas cards.  I found 2 Christmas cards from John, but they may have been from previous years.  I did not know that John had died, and I wanted to obtain his address so I could send him a card.  But alas when I googled his name I discovered he had died earlier this fall.  I worked several years at E-Systems, Melpar Division with John.  We were both on our bosses staff, and our boss was a VP.  John was inelligent, hard working, and a pleasure to be around.

I was saddened to hear the news about John. He was always very kind to me and my family, quick to make a wry remark, and  often willing to debate the intricacies of Computer Science (a cherished memory)
He was intelligent and caring: two traits that are often in short supply. 
I am sorry to only be with you in spirit, and we send our warmest thoughts and wishes to you all.

We offer our condolences at the passing of my cousin John Durgavich. John was 2 years older than me (Richard). As a child,  I would mainly see John when my parents (Lou and Dick) visited his parents (John Sr and Agnes) at their apartment in Brooklyn.  Time passed and John's path and mine diverged when he moved to the DC area while I settled in Boston.  One important time that we all got together was when John hosted a 50th anniversary party for his parents.  That was a great time.  When visiting Marianne and Irma in Maryland, I would often see John.  He was really smart and could come up with some funny quips.  I am so glad to learn that he played a great role in the lives of his grandchildren and shared his love with them.  John is now at peace and my wish is that we all remember the goodness in his life.

To Joel and the Durgavich family, we were so sad to hear of John's passing.  For the 34+ years we lived in Brook Hills there were so many activities that Peggy and I participated in and were always happy to see John (and Ginny in her lifetime) enjoying the activities too.  They were part of a warm, caring, and friendly neighborhood that was rare to find.  Losing a parent is so very final and sad.  May you come to enjoy the good memories that we all long to have of our loved ones.  May he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to you and all your families
Memories:   three very close cousins , John, Margaret Ann, and Tom. They grew up in Brooklyn as close as brothers and sister. I first met them when I married their Margaret Ann, my Peggy. I was so impressed by their  closeness to each other through the years in spite of the distances, by then coast to coast.
We lost Ginny, then Linda , then Peggy.  I can still see myself delivering  Ginny and Linda's babies.
We see each other too infrequently, but the memories grow stronger, the images brighter.  My visit with Tom refreshed all those family memories, and I sense his grief in losing John.
Still I am joyful in the thought that John has passed o to a finer place where he is reunited with his beloved Ginny.

Hi Joel and Daniel,

I am so very sorry for your loss.    I enjoyed knowing your dad/grandpa and had a good time dancing with him at a neighborhood Halloween party many years ago.   We all wore costumes, and he came dressed as a Construction Worker.   Please be grateful that you were able to have him for a long time.  It's never long enough, but it's a blessing.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the funeral; however, I'm very happy that I was able to see John last Christmas. Hopefully we'll see each other soon.
