She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the oldest daughter of Gladys and Frank Tepper. Joan joined the Women's Army Corp and served 2 1/2 years overseas. She retired from the US Department of the Army as a clerk typist in 1991. Joan loved to read, do genealogical research, take amatuer photos, and plan for & go on many road trips.
She was the loving wife of James Dillon. She had one son Jack (Pattie) Corkery of Orlando, Florida. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Frank and Donald, and sisters Gladys, Lorraine, and Janice.
A visitation for Joan will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA 22151. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 7401 St Michaels Ln, Annandale, VA 22003.
Memorial contributions may be made to Capital Caring Hospice and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Annandale.
