Played out on the black and white keys of her piano

Determination
Bear hugs
Baseball
Sweet iced tea on the back porch
As my sister and I sat with her and watched
My grandpa’s trains go by
He was the conductor
and she was the player
who never let the music stop
And even though she played others melodies so well
It was her own that will live on with us
My grandmom’s song has breadth and compassion and
