Jim Neary, age 79, resident of Annandale, VA passed away at his home. He is survived by his wife Eileen, his sons Kevin of Burke, VA, Timothy of Fairfax, VA; daughters Coleen and Maureen of Richmond, VA; his sister Lois Dillon of Matawan, NJ; and his beloved grandchildren: Jessica, Meghan, J.P., Christopher and Quinn.
Jim joined the U.S. Navy in 1951, went to Rutgers University from 1955-61. He was also a longtime American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) AFL-CIO Local 12 Steward and Treasurer in the U.S. Department of Labor (D.O.L.). His hobby was softball and he played with the Northern Virginia Senior Softball league.
The family will be holding services on Thursday April 5th at 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, Virginia 22151 (www.demainefunerals.com). A future memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
