Diane Adair Miller of Springfield, Virginia went to be with her heavenly Father on April 6, 2013 after a long illness. She was 58 years old. Diane was born in October 20, 1954 in Washington, DC. She grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated from Walt Whitman High School. She attended the University of South Florida and earned a degree in English and a minor in early childhood education.
Diane was a gifted writer and artist who loved children. She taught preschool for many years and was noted for her adorable cartoon characters that amused both children and adults. She enjoyed playing the piano, decorating, reading, and gardening. Diane also loved animals and always had family dogs and cats.
Most important, Diane was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Her family was everything to her. She was devoted to her husband of 32 years and her children were the joy of her life. Early in 2013, Diane became a grandmother and was blessed with a grandson in January and a granddaughter in February.
Diane is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael Miller; her daughter Laura Miller Jakucyk and her husband Justin Jakucyk; her son John Adair Miller and his wife Miranda Keenan Miller; plus two grandchildren Joshua Rhys Jakucyk and Audrey Vera Miller. She is also survived by her sister Jane Adair May and her husband Tom May, plus nephew David May. Other surviving family members include Mary Ann and Mike Donahoe, Bill and Lois Miller, and John and Linda Miller, plus fifteen nieces and nephews.
