I hope it’s ok for an ex-wife to add a memory, but although we were only married for 2 years after college, I have many happy memories. Thinking of him tonight as I watched Duke beat MSU & coach K win his 1,200 game before he retires. Dennis LOVED Bball & would have been excited with win.  I wish I could tell him how much my passion for NCAA Bball developed over the years after he introduced me to it. 


To Dennis’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can still hear his laugh 40 years later so I imagine you can too.  Chris, thank you for your memory & I’m glad that ABGC recognized his efforts. I was pleased to see some of Dennis’s JMU newspaper articles, when he was sports editor of “The Breeze” were online despite being written before the internet was invented. Dennis was such a hard worker & a passionate sports fan.

I’m not on social media so I apologize for being slow to respond. Love to Dennis’s  family & to Dennis’s kids… I can guarantee that he loved you so much, even tho we weren’t in touch & that he’s proud of you.

It is hard to believe Dennis has been gone for two years.  I will always be thankful to Dennis for his generosity and dedication through his work with the Annandale Boys and Girls Club.  His tireless effort and genuine love for the girls (now young women) of Annandale who were lucky enough to have played for one of Dennis's teams (Annandale Fury and Annandale X-treme) is something he should always be commended for.  Many of the girls that played for Dennis would not of had the opportunity to even play soccer without both Dennis's personal financial contribution and taxi service to the practices, games and to even the out of area travel soccer tournaments.  I sincerely hope that ABGC has chosen to honor Dennis's work and dedication with a plaque or picture in their offices.  Thank you so much Dennis for all you did.  -Chris O'Neill
