Billie S. Hayes

Beloved wife of 48 ½ years of the late Raymond James Hayes; caring mother of Karen (Chip) Hampton, Kimberly (John) de Mello, and Jim (Holly) Hayes; dedicated grandmother of Stacey, Jenna, Kerry, Madeline, Sarah, and Wade; also survived by loving brothers, sisters, and a large extended family. Billie was born and raised on a farm in Oklahoma. With hard work, she was able to make it all the way to the Pentagon, over a 35 year career supporting the military with the Defense Department, in numerous positions. After raising a family, she set out again leading bus tours across the country. In the end, though, her true passion and love was always her family. Friends are welcome at the Demaine Funeral Home, Backlick and Edsall Roads, Springfield, on Friday, October 4 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Inurnment at a date and time to be determined at the Arlington National Cemetery.
