Wilma Eula Brown, 87, of Springfield, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital. Wilma was born on October 23, 1918 in Wentworth, MO the daughter of Roy E. and Lucy Farmer Wight. She married Dick McCabe; he preceded her in death 1944 during WWII where he received a Purple Heart. She later married Harold Brown in July 1945 in Tooele, UT. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Pierce City High School in Pierce City, MO and was also a graduate of a cosmetology college in Joplin, MO. She was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lora Mae Gibson and four brothers: Bill, James, Gerald and Jason Wight. She is survived by her husband: Harold of Springfield; five sons: Dr. Duane (wife, Cathy) of Loami, Gregory (wife, Patricia) of Decatur, Alan of Springfield, Dr. Richard (wife, Valerie) of Springfield and Bruce (wife, Theresa) Brown of Dallas, TX; two daughters: Gail Brown of Mankato, MN and Kelly (husband, Troy) Lake of Westchester, OH; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister: Nell (husband, Max) Dalton of Monticello, UT and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield with Rev. David Hoefler celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S.
