William Thomas Rodgers

William Thomas Rodgers, 75, of Springfield, passed away on December 30, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on November 30, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio to William D. Rodgers and Corinne Ware. William married Carolyn Gaddie in Springfield on July 18, 1967 and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2018.

Mr. Rodgers is survived by one son Michael L. Rodgers of Fort Worth, Texas, one stepson Kelly Farris, brothers Richard Rodgers, Charles David Rodgers and Robert Leroy Rodgers and two sisters Elizabeth Marie Fickau and Corrina Rodgers and several nieces and nephews.

William was a US Navy Veteran and he graduated from Sangamon State University in 1983. He worked at Bakers Hardware and as a driver for Access Springfield.

Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday January 8, 2021 at Lakeside Christian Church, 225 Toronto Road, in Springfield. CDC guidelines will be followed regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday January 11, 2020 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
