Billy was born on October 4, 1977, in Springfield.
Billy was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the 183rd Air Guard. Billy enjoyed helping coach his children’s ball teams, cooking out, camping, online gaming, and had a special love for animals. Billy was a generous, humble and kind person to everyone he encountered. Billy had an uncanny ability to make anyone laugh. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and STL Cardinal fan.
He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Cox.
He is survived by his children, Trenton and Ryleigh Cox, both of Springfield; his mother, Mary Sue Cox of Springfield; his wife, Alison Cox of Springfield; one sister, Lesley Anne Cox (John Buchmiller); nephew, Johnny Buchmiller of Belleville; half-brother, Cameron Cox of Carbondale; two half-sisters, Stacey Hodgson and Stephanie Cox of Pennsylvania.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Bergbower officiating.
