William "Bill" E. Williams

He was born on June 29, 1934, in Springfield, the son of Robert Irving and Elma Eileen Marshall Williams. Bill married Frances (McGuire) Williams on January 30, 1954. She preceded him in death, on March 13, 2015.

Bill was a 1952 graduate of Feitshans High School. He was a hard-worker and was employed by Fiat Allis for 30 years, CIPS for 11 years, and spent 28 years working part-time for Kroger. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, square dancing, camping, horseshoes, gardening, and enjoying a Pepsi. Bill was a member of the Swinging Squares dance club and the Lincoln Land Trailblazers camping club.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty E. Geist; brothers, Robert Irving Williams, Jr. and Boyd D. Williams; and special companion, Marilyn Vespa.

Bill is survived by his children, Gerald E. (Vicki) Williams of Rochester, James H. (Bonnie) and Joseph A. Williams, both of Springfield, Barbara Williams of Springfield, Diane Baugh of Springfield, and Donna J. (Scott) Miller of Chatham; four grandchildren, Dane (Nikki) Rhoades, Lauren Williams, Ryan Williams, and Zachary Miller; and sister, Judy (Glen) Osborne of Decatur.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
