Wanda Rosemary Lantz

Wanda Rosemary "Rosie" Lantz of Springfield, died on Monday, July 25, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 27, 1923 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Tom and Grace Waller. She was one of thirteen children. She married Scott W. Lantz, Jr. on October 19, 1946 in Decatur, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945. She worked at Harvey Brothers Clothiers. She was a homemaker until going to work for Franklin Life Insurance Company in 1984. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church. She is survived by her husband, Scott W. Lantz, Jr.; daughter, Debby Lantz; sons Monsignor David S. Lantz, Mike (Paula) Lantz, Tim (Kitty) Lantz, Mark (Karen) Lantz, Steve Lantz and Jeff Lantz; sisters Sandra, Roberta and Phyllis; brother Jimmy; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering and Mass: Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass of Resurrection at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Christ the King Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz. Private burial will follow on Thursday, July 28, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice, 800 E.
