Virginia Irene Medd

Virginia Irene Medd, 90, of Lewisville, TX, formerly of Chatham, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Altus Hospice in Denton, TX. She was born December 31, 1922, in Taylorville, IL to Edwin and Mary Jane Lovell Bowen. Virginia married Robert Earl Medd on July 5, 1945 and he passed away in 1977. Her siblings, Marjorie Marvel, Thelma Radford, Mary Obertino, David Bowen, Edwin Bowen, and Lawrence Bowen also preceded her in death. Virginia and Bob raised their family in Chatham, where she attended Chatham United Methodist Church and active in the Order of the Eastern Star and DAR. Mrs. Medd will be greatly missed by her children, Pamela (Chris) Schiermeier, of Lewisville, TX, Robert E. (Nanci) Medd II, of Crystal River, FL, and Randall Lee (Linda) Medd of Roswell, GA; grandsons, Gavin, Shandell, and Jason Medd; great-grandson, Spencer Medd; siblings, Emma Fassero, of Franklin, TN and Lois Knuckey of Springfield, IL; brother, Elmer (Betty) Bowen of Kingman, AZ; several nieces and nephews. Cremation rites will be accorded in Texas. Memorial gathering: 11-1 PM, Sunday, September 29, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Memorial Service: 1PM, Sunday September 29, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Chatham with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Burial will follow at Auburn Cemetery.
