Tom E. Egizii

Tom was born on March 29, 1943, in Springfield, the son of John Edward and Helen Agnes Riley Egizii. He married Lynn M. Griffiths on December 29, 1962, in Springfield; she preceded him in death.

Tom was a graduate of Griffin High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Illinois College. Tom was the Chairman of E&F Distributing until his retirement. He was also past President of the Associated Beer Distributors of IL and a member of the KC #4179, Panther Creek Country Club, Ducks Unlimited, Blessed Sacrament, and the Roman Cultural Society. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, camping, spending time with family and socializing with friends. Tom also enjoyed spending time at his homes in Naples, FL, and previously, the Lake of the Ozarks.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, infant grandson, Samuel Egizii, and sister, Patricia Pirch.

He is survived by his three children, Todd (Peggy) Egizii of Freeport, FL, Christine (Mark) Kolaz of Springfield, and Jeff (Jennifer) Egizii of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Erin (Matt) Sartore of Freeport, FL, Emily Egizii of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Cassidy (Alex Kramer) Kolaz of St. Louis, MO, Thomas and Ryan Kolaz of Springfield, and Liam and Colin Egizii of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Briar and Bodhi Sartore; one sister, Cecilia Kulavic of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 South Walnut St., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326 or St. John’s Children’s Hospital.
