Timothy Michael Zellers, 32, of Pleasant Plains, passed away in the early hours of Saturday January 30, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 3, 1983 in Springfield to Michael and Gail (Albers) Zellers. Tim graduated in 2001 from Pleasant Plains High School and continued his education at Illinois State University where he graduated with a Business degree.
Timothy is survived by his High School sweetheart and fiancé Bethany Cunningham of Pleasant Plains and their first born child expected this summer. Also surviving are his parents Michael and Gail Zellers of Springfield, one brother Andrew (Lori) Zellers of Heyworth, one sister Kristen (Daniel) Blood of Valparaiso, IN., his maternal grandmother Jean Albers, his nephew and neice Caleb and Leah Zellers and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Clarence Albers.
No one who met Tim will forget his infectious smile and spirit. He had a way of inspiring those around him with his love for life and adventure. He developed a great friendship with the outdoors over his lifetime. Camping, hiking, fishing, mountain biking and especially mushroom hunting were some passions that he shared with many of his closest friends, family and beloved dogs, Carter and Greta. Music was always present whether it was attending outdoor music festivals or concerts, playing his banjo, or simply listening to his favorite bands around the house. Tim will be greatly missed but always remembered by countless friends both old and new. He touched many lives in a positive way. Tim was at his happiest time of life with the anticipation of his baby and becoming a daddy, which no one denies, he would have been the greatest.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday February 6, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 2645 Old Jacksonville Road.
