Thomas A. Shepherd, 69, of Springfield, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Brother James Court. Thomas was born on February 7, 1950 in Springfield, the son of Calvin J. and Lucille C. Cleary Shepherd. Thomas was employed with Goodwill Industries for 41 years. He was a Boy Scout. Thomas liked dancing, eating ice cream, playing guitar, watching WWE wrestling, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, listening to Elvis Presley and Taylor Swift music, and above all, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John C. and Donald S. Shepherd. He is survived by his sister, Margaret "Maggie" (Jim) Jenkins of Washington, IL; and two nephews, Patrick and Jason Sheehan of CA. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:15 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Butler Funeral Home - Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Mark McCall and Rev. Gerald Voycheck officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
