He was born on January 4, 1943 in Springfield, the son of the late Theodore Jerome and Juanita (Gochanour) Perry. He married Linda Owen in Springfield on Nov. 23, 1968 and she survives.
Thomas served in the U.S. Navy. He had worked as a janitor with the Springfield School District and prior to that he had worked at Fiat Allis. He was a member of Lincoln Land Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his 3 sons, Richard Perry of Springfield, Robert (wife Sonia) Perry of Auburn, IL, and Thomas (wife Anita) Perry of Rochester, IL; 3 grandchildren, Claudia Perry of Rochester, IL, Dylan Perry of Springfield, and Olivia Perry of Auburn, IL; and his brother Ray (wife Beverly) Perry of Mechanicsburg, IL.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Lyle Perry and 2 sisters Delores “Dee” Reazer and Phyllis Cravens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield where visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 11 am until time of the funeral service at 12:30 pm. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Ken Gennicks. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
