Thomas E. Halford, 69, of Dawson, formerly of Springfield, passed away at 6:09 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Doctor's Hospital. Thomas E. Halford was born September 7, 1932 the son of Frank A. and Marguerite Snodgrass Halford in Chatham. He married Helen Jannesse in July of 1955 in Springfield. Mr. Halford was a driver for Pepsi Cola for 29 years retiring in 1990. He and his son founded Steam Power Carpet Cleaing Company in 1990 and he retired in 2000. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church. He was prededed in death by his parents and a son Thomas K. Halford in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Helen Halford; a son: Steve Halford of Springfield; two daughters: Susan (fiance, Jerry Heaton) Babiak of Chatham, Marla (husband, Copeland) Auby of Riverton two brothers: Frank (wife,Joetta) Halford of Phoenix, AZ, John (wife, Joyce) Halford of Omaha, NE; three sisters: Beatrice (husband, Don) Yakus, Mary (husband, Charlie) Hubbs, Peggy Wiklin, all of Springfield; two sisters-in-law: Mary (husband, Sam) Sgro, Rita (husband, Don) Seiders both of Springfield; six grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2001 with a wake service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at St. Cabrini Catholic Church with the Reverend Rodney Schwartz officiating.
