Teresa Bonney "Bonney" Stittsworth

She was born in Milwaukee, WI, April 29, 1928 the daughter of Ignatz and Anna Gritzmaher Marek. She married James Dale Stittsworth December 20, 1950 and he preceded her in death November 8, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and a brother.

Teresa served in the United States Air Force. She was a devoted member of St. Agnes Parrish. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she was a social worker for the State of Illinois. She earlier in her career was an activities director with the USO.

Surviving are her daughter, RoyceAnne (David) Scoville of Springfield, two sons, James (Kathy) Stittsworth of Jacksonville, FL, and David L. (Beverly) Stittsworth of Mt. Vernon, IL. There are five grandchildren, five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Theodore Marek and her sister, Dorothy Marek, both of Milwaukee, WI. She has several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be on Sunday, June 19, 2011 beginning with a prayer service at 2:00 pm with visitation until 4 pm at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen. Military honors will be conducted by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County at 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Cremation rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory. Private inurnment will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
